TYLDESLEY RU found themselves dragged back in the relegation picture when visitors Fleetwood left St George's Park with the points following a 20-13 win.

Despite taking a early lead with a Mark Dickinson penalty, Fleetwood drew level also with a penalty to bring an uninspiring first half to a end.

The second half saw Tyldesley try and fail to break the Fleetwood line and when a period of pressure from Fleetwood ended with a Tyldesley player going for an interception which he knocked on, the referee to the surprise of many awarded Fleetwood a penalty try which was easily converted.

Tyldesley responded with a Dickinson drop goal but another swift counter attack by Fleetwood put them 17-6 ahead. Tyldesley then showed good determination to go back up the field and close to the line another knock on this time by a Fleetwood defender brought another penalty try this time in Tyldesley's favour. The conversion was landed by Dickinson but Fleetwood added a penalty to increase their lead to seven points at the

final whistle.

On Saturday leaders Oldham visit Tyldesley for what should be an excellent game for the expected large crowd.

Tyldesley Knights travelled to the coast to face Fleetwood and despite

playing most of the rugby they went down 25-17 with tries from James Eckersley and Howard Hughes which were both converted by Fraser Mackintosh who also landed a penalty. This Saturday the Knights face local rivals Wigan at St. George's Park.

Tyldesley Dragons game against Fleetwood was cancelled by the visitors giving them the week off and allowing the Dragons to be fresh when they visit Wigan on Saturday to defend their unbeaten record.
