WALKERS have expressed their joy at the repair of a path leading to Darwen Tower.
The route, which takes walkers from the Sunnyhurst Pub to the town's best-known landmark, was repaired last week by the countryside department of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.
Coun Dave Smith, Sunnyhurst ward, said: "It's fantastic. I'm sure it will make it a lot easier for walkers and will encourage more people to go up there as well."
Maureen Roberts, who walks her dog along the path, said: "It's better now than it's been in a long time. I'm very pleased that they've made it a lot safer for people who want to enjoy the walk."
Nick Osbourne, principal countryside officer for the council, said: "We are very pleased that people are so positive about the work."
