A RACE night will be held to raise money for two Darwen charity cyclists this month.
Malcolm Brown and Dave Worden will be taking an 550-mile journey from Darwen Tower to the Eiffel Tower in April. The Darwen pair are hoping to raise £10,000 for CLIC (Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood).
Punters at Uncle Jack's Pub, in Lower Darwen, will be called upon to help the boys in a fundraising night on Friday, March 21.
Landlord Jimmy Hughes, said: "We will be holding a night where people can bet on horses they watch on videos. We are hoping that it will attract a lot of customers because it's a very worthy cause. The night starts at 8.30 if anyone's intersted in coming along."
Dave, 39, of the Meadows, will celebrate his 40th birthday on the trip. He said: "Cancer touches everyone in one way or another and cancer in children is the most tragic thing and the most worthy cause to give to. We are both very pleased that people are getting behind us and supporting us."
To sponsor the cyclists contact Dave on 01282 456500.
