POLICE are appealing for information after a 90-year-old Lancaster man was let down by workmen who failed to return to his home after he had paid out £900.
The workmen carried out work to the man's front porch at his home in Lymm Avenue. Police said he paid £900 in cash on the understanding that they would return to tarmac his drive. But several weeks later the men had still not returned.
Police have issued a description of a man they wish to talk to in connection with the incident. he is about 50 and of medium build with dark hair. He was driving a green, open-backed pick-up with 'Tree and Garden' written in yellow on the door.
Police say there is a possibility that the driver also has access to an Escort van and is at times accompanied by three youths.
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Kim Williams on Lancaster 63333.
