THERE ain't no mountain high enough for an estate agent from Walton-le-Dale who will be taking part in a ski-marathon in Switzerland despite never trying the sport!
Tony Corrigan, pictured, who works as a mortgage advisor for Moving Works, Longton, will be setting off for St Moritz and the Engadin Ski Marathon.
The daring father-of-two, of Hampshire Road, will be taking on the challenge with friend Dave Webb, from Chorley, in a bid to raise cash for the Zurich Foundation.
Neither of the fundraisers have even put on a pair of skis or salopettes, but they intend to glide down the slopes with ease in the 26 mile event.
Tony said: "Experienced skiers tell us we are mad, but novices, like ourselves, just think it sounds like a great adventure. I'm really looking forward to it!
"Although we have never put on skis we are both reasonably fit and we are determined to finish the 26 miles - no matter how long it takes."
The pair will be joined by 13,000 contenders at the start line on Sunday, March 9, in the marathon cross-country challenge.
First run in 1969, it has become one of the largest ski events in the world.
Tony said: "We will have two days training before we start, which I hope will see us through."
No stranger to keeping himself in shape, Tony also ran last year's Flora London marathon.
The sponsorship money will go toward charity Kids2Care4, which helps disadvantaged young people lead more independent lives.
