ONCE upon a time in Heysham you could walk up on to Heysham Head, or if you preferred, you could ride up on a small train.
When you got to the top of Heysham Head, there was a place where you could get a drink, a snack or a meal.
Once up on the Head, there was plenty for the kids to do. There was a free playing area with swings and roundabouts; there was a small zoo with all kinds of animals. There was a birdhouse with all kinds of birds.
There was also a Go Cart Arena where there was international go-cart racing. There was also an ancient ducking pool where people could try it out.
Where is it all?
All gone.
What I trying to say, is that there is nothing to replace the things that have gone. There is nothing at all for the younger end, to be able to enjoy themselves.
I think that what the younger end would like to see either in Heysham or Morecambe is something like a skateboarding area, a roller blade arena or even a cycling track.
Something that would bring Morecambe and Heysham back to life, not only for the youngsters, but also for the older people instead of shops,
markets and more shops.
So I say to the councillors - have a look around at what little there is for the younger end. See if you can do anything about it.

What do you think? Is there enough for youngsters to do in Heysham ? Could the village do with more facilities, like a skateboarding area?
