DARWEN'S town clock is to benefit from a £30,000 facelift in the coming months.
Blackburn with Darwen Council heard the clock needed maintenance to restore it to its former glory of the late 1800s.
The market hall opened in 1882 and the clock was added to the tower in 1899. Sunnyhurst councillors have been pressing for the money for the past year. Coun Dave Smith said: "It's very good news that we've finally had the money allocated."
