A SEVEN-year-old boy who was savaged by a pack of dogs has returned home to complete his recovery.
Sam Leverett was released from the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Pendlebury, yesterday afternoon after almost a week and three operations.
Sam, of Broughton Street, Burnley, was walking to the shops in Tunnel Street, Burnley last Saturday, when he was set upon by a pack of around six dogs, including a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, a Jack Russell and a German Shepherd Labrador cross.
He received horrific injuries to his arms and legs.
His parents Jeff and Angela, who have been by his bedside with his uncle, Paul Topping, who flew over from Spain to be with his nephew, are relieved for him to be home.
Jeff, said: "We are really pleased with his recovery and are all just glad to have him home.
"We didn't know what to expect but he is now making good progress."
Sam is due to go back to Pendlebury on Monday to have his dressings removed from his arms and legs.
