UNUSED land at a housing development in Billington is to be turned into a wild flower area.
Ribble Valley Council's planning and development committee gave housing developer Redrow the go-ahead to landscape the ground in Dale View, off Whalley Road.
The meeting heard Redrow had built 49 houses at the site, but pockets of land next to a railway embankment were disused.
Redrow wanted to landscape the area and create a wild flower garden, councillors were told.
Dale View resident Matthew Finlay said: "In its current state, the land is dangerous, an eyesore and completely out of character with the rest of the development. We are calling on Redrow to rectify this situation without delay."
