A BOY needed hospital treatment after being attacked by an alsatian dog.
The eight-year-old later admitted to police that he and a friend had opened a garden gate to free the animal.
Paramedics were called to East Street in Bury on Sunday (March 9) at 2pm after the youngster had suffered bite wounds to his back and arm.
The owner of the alsatian was visiting relatives in nearby Spring Street and had locked the dog in a secure back yard.
