CLARETS top scorer Gareth Taylor is back in the Wales squad for their Euro 2004 qualifiers at the end of the month.
The in-form striker was named in the 27-man squad by Mark Hughes yesterday afternoon.
He was again watched in action in the FA Cup quarter-final at Watford on Sunday having been monitored by Hughes himself in the victory over Fulham in the previous round.
The call-up could see him miss the vital trip to current first division leaders Portsmouth on Saturday March 29 with Greek Under-21 striker Dimitri Papadopoulos also likely to be away from the club.
But the game against Harry Redknapp's side is now in doubt as the Pompey boss is expecting to see at least four of his players called up for international duty.
Lassina Diabate is expected to be on African Nations qualifying duty, striker Yakubu Ayegbeni could be recalled to the Nigerian squad , Matt Taylor looks certain to be in the England Under-21 side and Vincent Pericard could play for France Under-21s.
It only takes three call-ups for the match to be put back and so it looks likely that Burnley fans will be faced with another long midweek away trip.
