TRADERS in Bridge Street, Darwen, have started a petition to set up limited parking spaces.
The street was pedestrianised 18 years ago and ever since then, traders have complained business has dropped dramatically.
Eileen Helliwell of Helliwell's Shoe Repair shop, said: "We want to get the road back to how it used to be. If cars could park here for 20 minutes it would be a great improvement."
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council last week announced they would install disabled parking bays on the road.
The petition has attracted 47 signatures from customers to Helliwell's and petitions are due to be in place in more shops this week.
Councillor Dave Smith, Sunnyhurst ward, will take the the petition to committee at the next council meeting.
