THOUSANDS of women around the globe gathered in celebrations to mark International Women's Day.
More than 300 guests attended workshops and activities in the Windsor Suite at King George's Hall, Blackburn, where the attractions included a Blackburn Rovers ticket give away.
Blackburn with Darwen councillor Dorothy Walsh, vice-chairman of the International Women's Week Committee, said: "We support this celebration that aims to value the diversity of women's contributions to activities in the local community and beyond."
