CLITHEROE bagged another three points on their travels with a convincing win at Curzon Ashton.
With the title almost conceded by manager Lee Sculpher, runners up spot to likely winners Prescot Cables is the aim of the Blues boss.
"If we can't win it, then second place is a must," he said.
"We will fight tooth and nail to the finish and hope somehow Prescot and Mossley slip up badly, but I doubt they will."
The points were won in the first half last night, midfielder Andy Cowking scoring the first with a right-foot shot from 12 yards after the defenders failed to clear the danger.
Neil Spencer grabbed the second on the stroke of half-time after breaking clear, dodging past the keeper and stroking the ball into an empty net.
The visitors kept control of the game in the second half, hardly offering Curzon a sniff of goal, and Gary Jackson went close to extending Clitheroe's lead.
Striker Lee Cryer came off the bench for the final 10 minutes after a month out through injury to boost manager Sculpher's squad for the run-in to the end of the season.
Clitheroe face a tough challenge on Saturday when they entertain St Helens Town.
