A FORMER bus depot in Clitheroe is to be converted into apartments, after planners gave the controversial scheme the go-ahead.
Developer Candlemakers Croft Ltd, of Broughton Hall, were told it could build 24 apartments at the Pimlico Road site, by Ribble Valley Council's Planning Committee.
Clitheroe Town Council had objected to the scheme on the grounds of lack of services, poor access and road safety problems.
But planning officers recommended approval, provided Candlemakers Croft put up cash for a community green.
Planning officer John Macholc said: "Amended plans have now been received, which overcome some of the highways issues and reduce the impact on neighbouring residential amenity."
