HEAVY rain at the weekend highlighted changing room grumbles from soccer and rugby players who use Wigan Council facilities at the Marsh Playing Fields in Wigan Road, Leigh.
For months whenever it rains they've had to splash through deep puddles to get to and from the pavilion and a players' spokesman said complaints to the local authority have proved fruitless.
"It costs us £450 a season and we shouldn't have to put up with this. You need wellingtons to walk out of the changing rooms after matches," he complained.
A Leisure spokesman said: "We are aware of the problem and fully sympathise however we have to prioritise any improvements relative to those repairs that need to be made as a matter of health and safety.
"Improvements are on the work list and earmarked for the coming financial year."
