A LIVING tribute to a man who played his part in the community will be completed this weekend.
The Friends of Prestwich Forest Park will be planting an avenue of trees in memory of Graham Callan, a local character who, for many years, could be found around Drinkwater Park, Prestwich Clough or Philips Park with his dog, Lucy, collecting fly tipping in his barrow.
On Sunday, the Friends will plant 44 trees from Gardner Road to the viewpoint. The tree have been bought by the Friends and Bury Metro.
The borough's Wildlife Officer, David Dutton, said: "Graham was constantly striving to improve and protect the local environment." For more information telephone Mr Dutton on 0161 253 5269 or email D.P.Dutton@bury.gov.uk "
