AN exhibition on the proposed conversion of a redundant gasworks in Clitheroe into a flagship arts centre and cinema takes place today.
The event will be held at Clitheroe Library until 7pm and residents can have their say on the scheme.
A feasibility study into the conversion of the Kirkmoor Road site was launched last year by Brighouse arts consultants Jackson Quigg.
The scheme, spearheaded by the Trinity Community Partnership, would create up to 80 jobs and organisers hope it will establish Clitheroe as the cultural quarter of East Lancashire.
Residents have been asked what they think of the scheme and an analysis of demand undertaken with Ribble Valley organisations, schools and voluntary groups.
If successful, the centre will be funded from a variety of sources and include a cinema, theatre, performing arts area and rehearsal space.
The study, which will also look at traffic management at the site, is expected to be completed by May.
