TYLDESLEY Little Theatre director Ian Taylor knew just the man to save the company's latest production.
When a member of the cast of Your Turn to Clean The Stair dropped out just as rehearsals were about to start, an SOS went out to Mike Rimmer to step in to the role of a Scotsman in the intriguing psychological drama.
Mike, who has appeared as an extra in some of the country's top TV shows, including Coronation Street, Brookside and The League of Gentlemen, was hoping to have a rest after playing in the first two shows of the season.
He won plaudits as the son with secrets in the comedy The Garden Party and the villain in the smash hit panto Jack and The Beanstalk.
Ian, who is directing his 11th production, said: "Although I knew Mike was looking forward to a rest I had no hesitation in calling him to step back onto the stage. He is a dedicated member and has not only helped me out but added an extra touch of quality to an already fantastic cast."
The show runs from March 25-29 when the society raises the curtain on the latest show of its 82nd year.
It also features Margaret Speakes, Karen Ward, Paul Beardsworth and Hanna Dixon, all who might have dealings with a possible murder.
Tickets are available by phoning the box office on 01204 655619 or 01942 886908.
