A TEENAGER charged with murdering a football fan before a First Division match last December has been remanded to await trial.
During a 20 minute hearing at Preston Crown Court Andrew McNee, 18, of Osborne Way, Haslingden, pleaded not guilty to murdering 17-year-old Nathan Shaw on December 7.
Nathan, a Nottingham Forest fan from Aspley, Nottingham, was injured when trouble broke out in the St James Street area of Burnley prior to the Clarets Division One home match with Forest. He died the following day.
The judge, Mr Justice Morland, set the trial date for July 14 and McNee was remanded in custody.
