I'VE given up chocolate for Lent. A tough task but I've stuck to it.
The only problem is I've been dreaming about sweets, the ones we had as kids, black sambos, American cream soda, flying saucers etc.
The other night I tasted cinder toffee as if it was real. Eating it was still like crunching on a breeze block. A dental nightmare but absolutely delicious.
Then came midget gems, cherry lips, floral gums, scented cachous, love hearts and threepenny lucky bags.
Weren't they a disappointment?
