A CHORLEY firm is helping keep troops well hidden from the enemy by providing the camouflage material for army uniforms.
Pincroft's Printing and Dyeing Works on Market Street, Adlington, produces three different types of camouflage material including a 'Desert Storm' print.
Workers said they felt proud that their material could help keep troops safe if war is declared on Iraq.
One worker who did not wish to be named said: "We're making a lot of the stuff and it's all to the highest specifications.
"We dye it here and then it gets sent away to be stitched up.
"I can't say we've been producing more than normal even though there may be a war.
"We make three types but none of us is sure if we just supply the British Army or any other armies, though I'm pretty sure we don't give it to the Iraqi army!
"We're just proud to be helping the war effort."
A spokeswoman from the family run firm confirmed that the company does make camouflage material but refused to be pinned down about its eventual destination.
Adlington councillor Florence Molyneaux said: "I think it's a pity that there's going to be a war at all but I suppose somebody has got to make the uniform it so it might as well be a firm from Adligton."
A Ministry of Defence Spokesman said: "Unfortunately, due to the sensitive nature of the subject of war, we cannot comment on suppliers of army uniforms."
