A MAN suffered two deep gashes to his head when he was attacked with a brick while trying to stop his girlfriend being assaulted.
The attack happened in the early hours of Saturday (March 8) on the forecourt of the BP garage in Rochdale Road, Bury.
The 30-year-old woman suffered bruised ribs when she was set upon by a 17-year-old youth. Her partner, a 32-year-old man, intervened but was struck over the head with a brick by one of the three-strong gang. He was taken to Fairfield General Hospital where he received stitches.
The main offender is a white male, aged 17, 5ft 10in tall, slim and wearing a white cap and a denim jacket. His accomplices are also white males, aged about 16 and slim.
