HOPPERS completed an excellent weekend by following up a convincing league victory on Saturday with an emphatic win in the Lancashire Cup the following day.
Both sides fielded near full strength teams but Hoppers were generally on top.
A Sam Houston try gave them an early lead but Fylde responded to take the lead with a Morne Loxton penalty and an unconverted try by Dave Wiseman.
A superb run down the middle by Russell Flynn gave Josh Williams a try which Paul Bailey converted right on half time. Two tries by Anton Cramant confirmed Hoppers superiority up front and, although Fylde came back with a try by Alistair Atkinson converted by Loxton, Hoppers had the last word when Bailey took full advantage of an error in Fylde ranks to score a kick and chase try which Flynn converted.
Hoppers will, be at home to Manchester in the semi-final to be played on March 22 or 23.
AN excellent try by Oliver Viney after three minutes set up a league victory in dreadful conditions.
Dudley winger James Benedict responded to the opener four minutes later but Hoppers were soon on top and Rob Parkinson finished off a move from a lineout.
Paul Bailey's conversion made it 12-5 at half time.
A try from Cramant converted by Bailey emphasised the pack superiority to give Hoppers a well deserved and hard won two points.
Hoppers meet Dudley again on Saturday with their first trip to the West Midlands club.
Final score: Lancashire Cup quarter-final: Fylde 15 P'n Grasshoppers 29
National League North: Preston Grasshoppers 19 Dudley Kingswinford 5
