AUTHOR Qaisra Shahraz will be at Bangor Street Book Club's Typhoon Afternoon tomorrow from 1pm to 4pm at the Seven Trees Family Centre.
Qaisra, a well-known Manchester based author who originates from Pakistan, has two successful novels to her name, The Holy Woman and Typhoon, and has a third on the way.
The event aims to encourage women of all ages to join the Book Club, which meets every Monday at 1pm at Bangor Street Centre, Blackburn.
Typhoon Afternoon will offer women the chance to hear Qaisra read from her new book and talk about creative writing.
They will also be able to try taster courses in activities such as aromatherapy, henna painting and Indian head massage. Displays by the Womens Centre and Lifelong Learning will provide information about courses. A creche also will be available on a first come, first served basis for two to five-year-olds.
