DARWEN have signed out of favour Great Harwood striker Graham Lightbowne ahead of their trip to Holker Old Boys tomorrow.
Lightbowne is believed to have had a fall-out at Great Harwood and Darwen boss Steve Wilkes was more than happy to offer him a footballing lifeline.
"We were going to put seven days on him but they said we could just take him," Wilkes said.
Matt Anderton is also available for selection as Darwen look to build on their 2-0 win over Bacup two weeks ago.
With last Saturday's game being called off due to the weather, it's a long time to go without playing.
But Wilkes is looking to one better than the 2-2 draw they earned against them last month.
"We came back from 2-0 down but these are the teams we should be beating and hopefully we'll be able to do Bacup and Padiham a favour and help get them promoted.
"It's been a bit of nightmare going so long without a game but hopefully we will get three points and extend our run of one defeat in 14 games."
But he knows they will have their work cut out trying to keep Holker hotshot Paul Southwood quiet.
The striker has scored 20 league goals this season, 23 in total.
"He is a threat, but if we carry on the way we played against Bacup, we shouldn't have any problems," Wilkes said.
