NILE FC got revenge for their defeat in the Abdul Valli cup last year when they beat Santos in a five-a-side tournament in Preston.
The tournament was a prelude to a league being set up Preston at the Vida Tulketh Sports Centre. The league kicks off this month.
Ten teams participated in the competition and as well as the familar faces their were new kids on the block who gave the more established sides a real run for their money. Real Preston and OBC Deluxe both reached the semi-finals and were very unlucky to go out on penalties to the eventual finalists.
Earlier Fishwick Rangers (who brought the games to a halt far many times) were embarrassed by younger more energetic sides. As were reigning Sony Entertainment five-a-side winners Canaries.
In the final itself, Zuber Mal scored for Nile before Mohammed Bapu equalised. In the end it was left to penalties to separate the sides.
