I ATTENDED the million plus march in London to demonstate against a war with Iraq.
I was surprised to see so many people from different backgrounds at the march but I had hoped there would be more members from our community there. It was nevertheless a great event to be part of and I had hoped our government would listen to it's people. However, I don't think it will make any difference.
Ever since then we have been bombarded with more government spin and lies. Saddam Hussein is a tyrant but this war is going to be the beginning of more sinister plots to overthrow unfriendly governments.
I have read in many newspapers and seen on television many opposition politicians step forward and try to make a case for peace. I feel some of those would think differently if they were in power. A Liberal or Consevative Government would make the same decision.
This war will be a continuation of Western hypocrisy whereby UN resolutions are enforced at random. Mr Bush and Mr Blair should have a closer look at how many UN resolutions Israel has failed to implement over the past 50 years. I assure you it is more than just a few.
