Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn is looking forward to locking horns with his boyhood hero Simon Garner.
Dunn will come up against Garner, 20 years his senior and the club's all-time record scorer, when two Blackburn Rovers sides will play each other in the former striker's testimonial on May 18 at Ewood Park.
Dunn has even put back his holiday so that he can take part in the one-off match involving the current squad and Rovers Premiership-winning side.
"I remember watching Simon scoring goals for fun from the terraces when I was a lad," the England international recalls.
"He's still a hero around these parts."
Garner is equally relishing the challenge: "Every player out on the pitch will be a winner and almost all have represented their country at international level.
"There are some big, big names that have played for Blackburn over the last couple of years, and David Dunn is right up there."
Meanwhile, tickets for Garner's testimonial match go on sale to season ticket holders as from Monday.
Season ticket holders have until Thursday, April 10, to claim their seats for the benefit match at Ewood Park on May 18, kick-off 4pm.
Prices for all areas are: Adults - £12, Seniors/Juniors - £6, Young Adult Season Ticket Holders - £6.
Young Adult season ticket holders should produce their ticket book when claiming their seat.
