Weekly round-up of all things Claret
SKY TV pundit Rodney Marsh has joined Talksport's Mike Parry in the Clarets "Hall of Shame" after his disparaging remarks about the club last weekend.
He told viewers that Burnley had no right to be in the Premiership and thatb it just would not look right for such a club to go up.
He even went as far as to say it would be "an absolute disgrace" if they ever got back to the top level, despite the fact it was stage the club graced for many years.
In the past Marsh has upset other clubs, not least Bradford City, and he was forced to have his head shaved in the middle of the pitch at Valley Parade.
IT was a good weekend for a couple of strikers with Clarets connections.
Striker Anthony Shandran found the net for the second time for York City in a 3-1 win against Cambridge United, scoring in the last minute after coming on as a late sub. He has recently had his loan spell extended at Bootham Crescent and is hoping to help their push for a place in the third division play-offs.
The other man to make his mark was Dino Maamria, grabbing his first goals for Stevenage Borough with a brace in a vital win near the foot of the table.
He left Turf Moor for the Conference side last month and is hoping to help them avoid relegation.
AS crumbs of comfort go it may be more miniscule than something miniscule from miniscule land but the Clarets did have a small victory over the Hornets on Sunday.
Stadium announcer Ian Bannister won the vote for "Stadium of Rock" on the Five Live show that supporters listened to on the way home, helped by the fact that Chumbawumba are Clarets fans.
The big disappointment is that the band will not be in a position to do a Cup Final record in May!
