A JAZZ musician who has played alongside Louis Armstrong will be taking to the Morecambe stage to head a tribute to the great man himself.
Terry Lightfoot has been a key player on the British jazz scene since 1956 when his band played its first major concert at London's Royal Festival Hall.
He is also one of the few British musicians to have played alongside Armstrong when he performed at a Soho restaurant in the same year.
It is fitting then that he heads the celebrations for the Louis Arm-strong Centennial with 'Special Magic of Louis Armstrong' show.
It includes the great songs from Louis' career such as 'Hello Dolly', 'Wonderful World' and 'Cabaret' as well as the great jazz instrumentals from his earlier days with The Hot Five and King Oliver.
Terry's record 'The Special Magic of Louis Armstrong', released in 1966 and awarded the British Music Industry Award for Excellence, is being re-launched to coincide with this tour.
This Salute to Satchelmouth at Morecambe's Platform kicks off at 8pm on Friday, March 21.
Tickets costs £12 adults and £10 (conc) and are available from the box office on 01524 582803.
