A BUDDING flautist from Lancaster Boys Grammar School is set to prove he does not do things by half.
Tim Ramsey, 13, from Lancaster, has organised a charity concert in aid of the Lancaster Royal Infirmary Brain Scanner Appeal to take place at St Martin's College Chapel, on Saturday at 7.30pm.
It will feature old and new classical music performed by renowned local musicians and members of the Lancaster Community Music Trust - plus Tim's 12-year-old violinist pal David Gent.
Tim, pictured right with David, says: "I decided to raise money for the Brain Scanner Appeal and thought a concert was a good idea, because people usually do sporting events and I wanted to be different."
"I have never done anything like this before and I never realised it was going to be on such a big scale, but it should be good."
Tim has stormed through the grade syllabus and is now working towards his grade eight exam.
His musical talent also extends to the classical guitar, the piccolo and the piano, and he puts renowned flautists Wissam Boustany and James Galway at the top of his list of inspiring flautist.
