A PETITION bearing 90 signatures urging limited parking to be introduced on Bridge Street, Darwen, will be handed over to the council this week.
The signatures were collected by shop-owners who want their customers to be able to park in front of shops on one side of the road for a limited time.
Eileen Helliwell of Helliwell's Shoe Repairs said: "Our trade has really been affected since cars were banned from the street and we have a lot of disabled customers who find it difficult to come into the shop if they can't get dropped off outside the door."
The petition was handed over to Coun Dave Smith, who said: "It seems logical to introduce short-stay parking on the street because it could be a real boost to businesses."
