HOWEVER objectionable we may find the BNP, they have the right to free speech providing they operate within the framework of society's rules. If the Labour Party wish to spend money on 'correcting misinformation' they also have that right.
It would, however, be an abuse of public funds to spend money on what would essentially be party-political matters and, therefore, the district auditors should intervene and prevent the setting up of a Department for Correcting Misinformation by Blackburn with Darwen Council (LET, February 28). Thin end of the wedge, no doubt about it.
