THIRTY extra jobs have been created at a new, multi-million pound bingo palace.
A staff of 70 will be on hand at BJ's Luxury Bingo which later this month moves into the former Pioneer Store in Ellesmere Street, Leigh.
The last house was called at Shipleys' Windermere Road premises at the weekend and the hi-tech new 1,500 seater premises will open on March 21.
The project is the latest from Shipley Brothers, a Midlands based company, which saw the need for better facilities to meet growing demand for the game.
The move and rebranding to BJs has been overseen by Shipley's long-time manager Dave Hillary who said: "It has been like a madhouse, but fun. We are working on the opening now and promise a spectacular night."
The new club will offer a 330 space secure car park and state-of-the-art bingo experience. Big screen technology will enable players to have all the game information relayed to them, there will be full air conditioning, a large non-smoking area, big comfortable seats and a licensed bar and cafe.
There will also be complete access for the disabled and wheelchair bound players as well as an induction loop to help the hard of hearing.
A company spokesman said: "The club will appeal to all ages and accessibility is so easy with the huge car park, the bus station next door and a taxi rank on site."
Membership is free and application forms are available from Shipleys in Windermere Road or by calling BJs free hotline on 0800 587 4467.
