I FULLY agree with Jon Carter (Letters, March 3) about Brunshaw estate in Burnley. I feel that Belmont Community centre should be used during the day for the elderly, but give the centre to Brunshaw Action Group so that they can carry on doing their good work.
I am sure they would fill the centre every night and keep the kids off the streets and out of trouble.
I have sat at my window and watched that group work very hard over the last few years. I have also been on the trips they provide and nothing is too much trouble -- we are well cared for and even the teenagers have looked after us.
My grandchildren go to their activities on Fridays and really enjoy it, but they want something to do during the week, not just Fridays.
So come on, all you big wigs, give Brunshaw Action Group more funding and their own centre, so they can get more kids off the streets at night and so their parents will know where they are.
Well done to all at Brunshaw Action Group. Keep up all the hard work. There are a lot of people on this estate who appreciate all you do.
H HARRINGTON, Brunshaw resident, Burnley.
