AN anti-war campaigner is hoping to follow in the footsteps of John Lennon's famous musical protest with a new CD.

Robert Robinson, 39, of Rylands Street, Burnley, is hoping his CD, The People's Anthem, will strike a chord in the music industry, similar to the former Beatle's classic Give Peace A Chance.

And his campaign received a boost after it was revealed popular TV show This Morning is considering playing the single live on air.

Robert, who has a two-year-old son, Joel, with his wife, Debbie, aims to get the CD produced by a well-known record company and use the proceeds to help war casualties.

He contacted the ITV morning show on Monday and played the catchy tune down the phone to a researcher.

He said: "The woman I spoke to really liked the CD.

"She has asked me to send a copy to the studios and they will take it from there.

"I am hoping that Fern Britton and Philip Schofield will like the music and will play it live on air."

The CD has been sent to the Peace Not War Campaign, Belmont Road, London, who are to forward his music to a record company.

Robert, a telephone operator, added: "It would be a dream come true to have my music published.

"I have been likened to Bob Dylan so that's an achievement in itself.

"I have been watched the news non-stop and have taken things that people have been saying and incorporated them into the song, hence the name The People's Anthem.

"It's probably a longshot but any money that would be generated from the CD would go towards helping the war victims and any orphans of the war.

"We don't want this war to go ahead.

"But when it does, we want to be able to do our bit to help those affected by the war."

Nik Psaria, Peace Not War spokesman, said: "We need people like Robert to do things like this so we can help raise the profile of our cause."
