FLOODING in Barrowford was the subject of an emergency training exercise carried out by staff at Pendle Council.
Around 24 people met at Nelson Town Hall to discuss how the council would respond to flooding and how residents could be evacuated.
They were joined by representatives from the Environment Agency, the police, Lancashire County Council, the Women's Royal Voluntary Service, Burnley Council, the British Red Cross and Lancashire Fire and Rescue.
Ian McInery, Pendle Council's emergency planning manager, said: "The aim was to test the ability to co-ordinate a response to any emergency situation. While the exercise was about a location in Barrowford, I have to stress that this does not mean that we are expecting flooding problems in Barrowford."
