POLICE have issued descriptions of the armed robbers who held up a bank in Leyland, stealing thousands of pounds.
The two men went into the Lloyds TSB bank on Chapel Brow, carrying firearms at around 12.30pm.
At least one of the guns was fired, and a security screen was damaged, but nobody was hurt.
They are believed to have stolen several thousand pounds.
One of the men was black, in his early twenties, around 5ft 7ins with a medium build, wearing a purple zip-up top, with a black woolly hat pulled down over his face.
The second was white, in his early twenties, 6ft tall, with a skinny build, wearing a black and white horizontal striped jumper, and a black hat. They were last seen running down Hastings Road.
Officers were on the scene on Tuesday afternoon taking statements. Anybody with information should call Leyland police on 433561.
