IT has been clear since he became president that George W Bush intended that American Forces would invade Iraq.
Let us pray that the troops quickly find the weapons of mass destruction and destroy them before they can be used -- how embarrassing if they don't find any.
I would have thought that dropping bombs from high in the air constituted a weapon of mass destruction. Baghdad has a population of 25 million. How many casualties would be considered acceptable?
Mr J Alcock (Letters, March 14) implied that as soon as the war is over peace on earth, maintained by President Bush and his friends, will be the order of the day.
I wonder how he will deal with N Korea and Israel for example. In the case of the latter, Israeli troops invade Palestinian territory at will. (Israel has weapons of mass destruction and atom bombs).
George Bush is said to be 'religious.' Let us join him in praying that the war he is has started does not result in too many deaths.
W TRINDER (Mr), Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn.
