IT was great to be back in the side against Leicester on Tuesday night, even if it was another disappointing result.
It has been a very frustrating season for me and it seems to have been stopping and starting, never getting any real rhythm going. I have always been coming back from an injury or a niggle, playing 20 minutes here or 20 minutes there.
I got 90 minutes under my belt at Sheffield and then missed out at Walsall so it was pleasing to be in again a couple of days ago.
I felt a little stiff yesterday morning, that is only to be expected, and apart from that I have felt fine. It was a very tough match physically but we knew it would be against Micky Adams side.
I spoke to Matty Elliott after the match and he was saying that teams must really hate playing against them. After an hour they were happy to defend and take a point but then they got two goals from corners.
The surprising thing is that down there when we played them we defended really well from set-pieces and it is something we have to look at.
But Leicester are a bit like we were when we went up from the second division. That season we won something like 19 games by just one goal, 2-1 or 1-0, and we got promotion. Leicester look like doing the same thing.
They are not as good a side as Sheffield United but they have the winning habit while almost every other team in the division, apart from Pompey, seems capable of winning a few and then losing a few, just as we have done.
Look at what is happening at Rotherham at the moment. Then there is Crystal Palace who really impressed me down there when we drew 1-1. I fancied them to go on a run but I don't think that they have managed to win a game since.
It is very weird and sometimes there is a very fine line between winning and losing. Less than a fortnight ago we were living the dream before the Watford game, now we are struggling.
