STUDENTS at Gawthorpe High School were given inspiration to write their own stories when children's author Hazel Townson visited during the lower school's book week.
Years seven and eight pupils were given advice on how to build a story and were asked to come up with ideas for their own articles.
Librarian Elizabeth Maltby said: "She was very good. It is important for the children to meet a real life author and we try and get someone in each year in Book Week."
