MOLLIE Baxter has delighted audiences at Spotlight in Lancaster as a singer/songwriter on many occasions - but this week it's going to be different.
She steps up to the 'mike' in Yorkshire House tomorrow (Friday) with her own unique brand of short story.
Mollie, who is currently working on her MA in creative writing at Lancaster University, will be reading a new story called 'How To Eat A Man', centring on one woman_s unique way of regaining her balance in the aftermath of the breakdown of a relationship.
Also making another welcome appearance in the Spotlight with a mixture of poetry and comedy is Richard King comes with an offbeat slant on the rich carpet of life drawn from his own singularly philosophical experiences.
Two poets complete the literary line-up. Dave Patton has been travelling from St Helens to Spotlight on a regular basis for several years and Brian Gilham is a rising talent with a strong local following who will be making his second appearance.
The exceptional song-writing of Paddy Garrigan occupies the opening music spot with themes such as frustration, under achievement and the dubious existence of God underpinning Paddy_s poetic lyrics.
Completing the line-up the Cine Croquet Tramps will round off the night, performing to the accompaniment of specially produced super 8 cine films.
This night of art, literature and music not to be missed in the uninhibited surroundings of The Yorkshire House will be compered by Tim Stevens and kicks off at 8.30pm - with an open mike session from 8.45pm.
