WHEN it comes to singing, mother and daughter Christine and Amelia Gregory are a cut above the rest!
The Gregorys are part of a harmonious Lowton family and sing with The Cheshire Chord Company -- Britain's barbershop chorus champions who have beaten the best in Europe.
In the European Championships at Eindhoven, Holland they competed alongside women's choruses from Ireland, Germany, Holland, Sweden and England.
Competition
Christine, whose husband, John, is a top barbershop chorister, explained: "On the day of the competition we went in the auditorium to watch The Ronninge Show Chorus from Sweden. They were awesome. They sing very much like Americans and are very visual -- barbershop performances include choreographed moves. But we saw what we were up against and went for it."
An incredible performance earned The Cheshire Chord Company first place in front of a audience of 2,000 who leapt to their feat in appreciation.
Four years ago daughter Amelia, then 17, joined the line-up. She is currently studying a BA (hons) in Contemporary Performing Arts and Theatre Studies at the University of Central Lancashire.
The Gregorys are carrying on a family tradition. Christine's mother was a successful singer in the 1960s and 70s on the northern club circuit and her brother played with a band and also was a solo singer and guitarist.
