WHAT a fantastic end to the season we have in prospect!
Last week's magnificent victory over Arsenal puts us in with a great shout of a top six finish.
And there's no reason why we can't kick on from here given the way we've been playing recently.
Make no mistake about it, we deserved to beat Arsenal last Saturday.
I know the Press were all quick to say it was the Gunners' worst performance of the season but that only tells half the story.
I thought we were brilliant in every department and once we grabbed our second goal the result was never in doubt.
So why should we have anything to fear going to Newcastle on Saturday, even though the Geordies boast a fabulous home record?
St James's Park is a fantastic place to play football because their fans are right up among the most passionate in the country.
And given the way they are flying at the moment, they are guaranteed to give us a 'warm' welcome.
But we won't be intimidated by that, believe me. In fact, that will only fire us up even more!
Every game and every point is now crucial for us and I know it's a long shot but we are only five points off the Champions League places and we haven't given up on that dream just yet.
So it's vital we keep our excellent run going because just imagine what a win at the weekend would do for morale.
To win four games on the bounce these days is no mean feat in the Premiership, especially when you consider the quality of the teams we've been beating.
We will have to match them man for man again, like we did against Arsenal, because Bobby Robson has built an exciting team.
Alan Shearer is still banging in the goals with alarming regularity and Jermaine Jenas and Kieron Dyer are two of the brightest midfielders in the country.
I just hope I can be involved in the run-in by staying injury free between now and May.
It was very frustrating having to watch the win over Arsenal, especially after I'd only just come back and I felt as though I was getting some form going again.
Thankfully, the injury has responded to treatment this week and I feel fine again now.
But I know it's going to be hard to force my way back into the starting line-up because the lads performed so well in my absence.
