LEIGH RMI Ladies' promotion prospects took a knock when they were beaten 4-3 by top of the table Droylsden.
From the first whistle RMI dominated and played Droylsden off the park. The opener came from a long ball by Thompson which Sumner latched onto and slotted past the keeper. The second and third also followed this trend as Sumner used pace and power to complete her hat-trick.
Just before half time Droylsden pinched a goal back after Leigh failed to defend a cross from the touchline to make it 3-1 at the break. In the second half Leigh looked tired and lacked enthusiasm. Two great crosses later and lack of marking in the area made it 3-3. Despite tremendous work rates from Wood, Dennard and Taylor, Leigh could not keep out a fourth in the 88th minute.
