THE GMB union was today picketing the annual meeting of troubled holiday giant MyTravel in its bid to seek recognition for its members.
Union officials were looking for the support of shareholders in their campaign for workers who face up to 700 redundancies.
There are fears that some of the losses will be at sites in Accrington and Helmshore.
Senior organiser Neil Holden said: "MyTravel is a major employer in the North West and is particularly important to the local economies in East Lancashire and Rochdale," he said.
"Our members employed throughout the MyTravel family of brands are extremely concerned for their future employment and the future of the company. Now is not the time for wholesale redundancies."
