I AM not surprised that parents in Blackburn and Darwen are outraged at proposals to increase school bus fares for children by 100 per cent (LET, March 8). Many will not be able to afford the rises.
This follows the huge rise in Council Tax and, of course, next month comes the rise in National Insurance contributions.
At both national and local level, Labour appears to think that people have an unlimited amount of money to pay extra taxes.
Councillor DAVID PEARSON, Rawstorne Street, Blackburn.
