CANAL enthusiasts from Bury have showed their appreciation for a landscape architect.
The Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal Society nominated British Waterways employee Marcus Chaloner for an national accolade from the Inland Waterways Association.
And at the association's annual meeting, the society presented Mr Chaloner with the Kenwin Trophy for his work on the proposed canal project.
The award is presented annually to a non-association member who has made an outstanding contribution to restoring waterways.
Regional chairman of the association Margaret Fletcher said: "He is as enthusiastic about the project as members of the association.
"Society members have found him to be very easy to work with and we are sure that he has been instrumental in moving the project forward so rapidly."
