THE benefits of Bury businesses connecting to broadband will be underlined at a meeting in the town next Tuesday (March 25).
Nigel Billings and Neil Haydock, of Hands-on Computing, will be the main speakers at the next meeting of Bury Business Network.
Nigel and Neil will discuss some of the technical issues and opportunities and explore how businesses can access information from more than one location. Delegates will also be briefed about how to protect information from viruses and hackers.
Also lined up for the 5.30pm meeting at the Bolholt Country Park Hotel, is Stephen Singer of Bury-based Infralogics, a consultancy specialising in streamlining the working office.
He will give insights into how opportunities available through adopting technologies, such as broadband, can fail to be achieved if insufficient attention is given to re-aligning business processes.
A new feature at the Bury Business Network events is Rita Keiller of Business Solutions, part of Bury College. She will give Micro Soft-based "hints and tips" each month aimed at improving office productivity.
And Business Link North Manchester will provide information of significant funding opportunities and be available for general business advice.
